MDSv2 has been developed for the Canadian healthcare marketplace. It is an extensive system that helps follow the progress of patient treatment. Provincial legislation makes it mandatory for certain healthcare facilities to collect, process, and report data on the progress of patient treatment. Development was done on behalf of a Canadian customer and the product has been found in compliance by the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s Vendor Testing program. (As of January 2010, only 11 vendors have successfully passed this testing program in Canada).
